Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

Ponte Vedra Christian Co-op is committed to making our website — pvchristiancoop.com (opens in new tab) — accessible to all visitors, including those with disabilities. We believe every family exploring Christ-centered education deserves equal access to information about our programs and community.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including people with visual, auditory, motor or cognitive disabilities. This is a good-faith effort: we test the site against these guidelines and fix what we find, and we welcome reports of anything we have missed.

Where our brand teal and orange are used for text, we use darker shades of them so the text meets the WCAG contrast minimum (success criterion 1.4.3). Our buttons use slightly darker shades of the same teal and orange so their white text meets the same minimum.

Accessibility features of this site include:

  • A "Skip to main content" link and a logical heading structure on every page
  • Full keyboard access, with a visible focus indicator, to the menu, the Request Information form, the questions-and-answers lists and the photo slider
  • A photo slider that pauses when you hover over or focus it, has Pause and Previous/Next buttons, and does not move on its own if your device is set to reduce motion
  • An accessibility button on every page that turns on a high-contrast mode with larger text
  • Pages that reflow to a 320-pixel-wide screen and to 200% browser zoom without scrolling sideways
  • Text descriptions on meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers
  • No auto-playing audio or video

How We Test

Before launch and after every significant change, we check every page with automated accessibility testing (axe-core) on desktop, tablet and phone screen sizes, in normal, reduced-motion and high-contrast modes, and we test keyboard navigation, reflow and the page structure that screen readers use. People then review the site by hand, including with the VoiceOver screen reader. We keep a dated record of these checks.

Known Limitations

Ponte Vedra Christian Co-op is a small organization, and some content may not yet be fully accessible:

  • The Request Information form is provided by an outside enrollment provider and shown inside our site. We make sure the window around it works with a keyboard and screen readers, but the form itself is controlled by that provider.
  • Downloadable documents, such as the academic calendar (PDF), may not be fully accessible to screen reader users. If you need a document in another format, email us and we will provide it.

We are working to address these limitations and welcome feedback to help us prioritize improvements.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

Our site is designed to work with current web browsers and with:

  • Screen readers (such as VoiceOver, NVDA and JAWS)
  • Browser zoom and text resizing
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • High-contrast and reduced-motion settings
